New designer unveils first bridal creation for Oscar de la Renta
Following the sad passing of Oscar de la Renta last year, the newest Creative Director for the fashion house, Peter Copping, has revealed his first custom-made wedding dress under the ODLR label – and it’s stunning. The princess-cut gown is light and airy, made from taffeta and organza, with hand-cut petals along three-quarter length sleeves, belt, bodice and full skirt.
The illusion high neckline is a nod to the bride’s Arabic traditions, while the mid-plunging v-back still leaves enough to the imagination.
The dress took 30 people over 1,500 hours to complete – now that’s commitment to the fashion cause!
This is a perfect example of a wedding gown that looks regal and ethereal at the same time.
The bride is Haifa Snobar, a PR exec for the designer’s Middle Eastern division in Saudi Arabia, and her groom Mohammed Abu Ghazale. They married last week at the Château de Voisins close to Paris.
