My long-awaited ring selfie!
The time has come to share my long-awaited ring selfie (or #relfie #sorrynotsorry). It’s only taken me four cities (Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin and London), several disgruntled shop assistants and about a hundred rings tried, but I can finally say I found my perfect engagement ring in Hatton Garden. Horrah. And yes, I firmly believe that there’s definitely something to be said for shopping for the ring after the proposal. It’s been a whole lotta fun.
The ring I chose is a 0.7 carat round brilliant stone, with 20 small diamonds embedded in the halo, and one small diamond on either side of the ‘eyes’. So that’s 23 diamonds and nearly a carat in total!
The style of the mount was really important to me (dare I say even more than the diamond?) and I’m thrilled with the 1920s/vintage/Art Deco design. There’s a load of detailed work in the under-carriage as well.
Now that my family have seen the ring IRL, I feel comfortable posting it out into the world. Something extremely cathartic about this! See more on how to choose an engagement ring on Bouquet Catch…
